“Drone to the Bone” is a collection of improvised tracks that were recorded in live conditions. All songs are presented in their very first take, in order to capture the raw energy of the creative process: plug in the instruments, play, let it go, press rec and listen to what’s happening. No rehearsal, no prepared plan: just the inspirational momentum and its natural evolution.

The material was recorded on a pair of affordable pocket recorders located in the practicing room. No editing. Subtle overdubs were added here and there to enhance the final mix. All imperfections are part of the process.

“Drone to the Bone” focuses on the drone and krautrock sides of Des Yeux. Long repeated sonic landscapes slowly evolve and end up colliding into dark and noisy motorik patterns.

The artwork is taken from Belgian artist David Crunelle’s current series entitled “Electrum”.

The band comments the release: “We have recorded all our practice sessions since the early days of our collaboration. We have always said that one day, we will release the recordings as a complement to our official discography. The current lockdown context seems to be the perfect momentum to publish that sort of raw material.”

“Drone to the Bone” is currently available in digital format. Physical copies will follow as soon as live shows resume.
